About Us

We are a specialty grocery store and community of food lovers who take great pride in providing sustainably-sourced seafood, pasture-raised meats, house-made prepared foods, locally-sourced provisions, and a curated selection of wine and beer to our loyal customers.  We have been family-owned and operated in the heart of Westhampton in Richmond, Virginia, since 1986 and now have three locations.

In addition to our store, we serve scratch-made lunch fare five days a week at our Patterson and Libbie Mill Lunch Counter. Our talented culinary team offers carryout and event catering as well as in-store private events. 

We are currently seeking a passionate, skilled, and experienced Head Baker to help develop and lead our baking program. This is an opportunity to shape the identity of our bakery offerings and be a key part of a growing business with deep local roots.

Responsibilities

-Develop and execute a rotating menu of baked goods including artisanal breads, pastries, seasonal specialties and more!

-Lead all aspects of daily baking production, from prep to finishing

-Manage inventory, ordering, and cost control for baking ingredients

-Train and supervise support baking staff (if applicable)

-Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment

-Collaborate with ownership and culinary team on new product development

-Uphold consistency, quality, and visual appeal of all baked items

-Monitor trends and customer feedback to refine offerings

Qualifications

-3+ years professional baking experience, including scratch baking

-Strong knowledge of doughs, fermentation, lamination, and pastry techniques

-Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed

-Comfortable managing production timelines and inventory

-Creative, detail-oriented, and dependable

-ServSafe certification

-Passion for seasonal, locally sourced ingredients

-Ability to work in a collaborative, team oriented environment
